Portsmouth, VA: Today, building on his momentum after outraising Del. Steve Heretick in the first quarter of the year, Nadarius Clark, the leading progressive in the 79th District Democratic primary, is announcing support from two notable local leaders:

State Senator Mamie Locke, and  Portsmouth Mayor Shannon Glover.

Sen. Locke, a racial justice and women’s rights activist with a PhD in political science first elected to the state senate in 2004, released the following statement regarding her endorsement of Nadarius Clark for Delegate:

“After reviewing Nadarius’ extensive resume of community service, I am proud to endorse his campaign in the 79th district. He has demonstrated the spirit and values that embody real leadership and representation; traits we need more of in Richmond. He will stand with the people of Hampton Roads, not special interests or corporate donors and I am eager to work with him to advance the issues of social justice and climate change reform in our state capitol.”

On receiving the support of Mayor Shannon Glover, Nadarius Clark released the following statement:

“I’m honored to have the support of one of the very elected officials who inspired my own run for office here in the 79th district. Mayor Glover has known me all my life and I am grateful that he is standing up and fighting for a brighter future here in Portsmouth.”
